Deaconess Gristella Bennett Simmons, 73, of Johns Island, SC, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 18, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband, Deacon Herman Lee Simmons, Sr.; children: Mr. Herman L. Simmons, Jr., Mrs. Erika S. Mack (Brian Sr.), Mr. Duane Simmons (Prophetess Gwendolyn), and Elect Lady Dedra S. Johnson (Pastor Jason); grandchildren: D'Asha Young (Bischard), Destiny Simmons, Tamara Morton (Quadarrel), Travell Simmons (Allison), Brian Mack Jr., Da'Juan Simmons, Malachi Mack, Gabriel Simmons, Zion Johnson, and Jason Johnson Jr.; six loving step-grandchildren; brother, Mr. George Bennett (Sheila); sister in laws: Ms. Lorene Anderson, Ms. Emily Simmons, and Lucille Bennett; brothers in laws: Mr. George Simmons, and Mr. Jerome Simmons (Sheila); along with a host of other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Israel Simmons; and brother, James Bennett, Jr. The family will be receiving visitors at 895 Hughes Road Johns Island, SC 29455, Tuesday-Saturday, from 2pm to 9pm.
