MRS. EVANGELINE "VANGIE" HAYNES MIDDLETON at THE P INC. Obituary (1923

She was born and raised in Charleston, SC. She was married for 32 years to her lifelong lov, the late Clarence Pierce Middleton. Vangie received her early education at Avery Normal Institute, where she graduated with a teaching certificate. She then completed corsework at South Carolina State College and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Claflin College. Vangie taught at A. B. Rhett Elementary School and eventually retired from Charleston County School District after 30 years. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Cleveland Gordon Haynes, Jr., Jacqueline Felicia Jackson (Harold, Sr.) and Marshall Fields Haynes. she is survived by her sisters-in-law, Gerturded Haynes of Burton, SC and Melvenia F. Haynes of Charleston, SC and a host of family and friends.
